On the north of Agia Galini and at a distance of ~ 35 kms there is Psiloritis which is the highest mountain of Crete ~2600 m, with so many places to visit. The second most important after Knossos, which is at a distance of 80 kms The caves on the hill where the Hippies lived are visited today by the tourists.Īt the same distance of 20 kms there is the ancient (Minoan) city of Festos. The city of Spili - 25 Kms which is also the capital of the provinceĪt a distance of 7 kms around Agia Galini, there are various villages with beautiful sand beaches, and others on the mountains.Īt a distance of 20 kms there is the village of Matala which in the sixties was the center of the international movement of Hippies. The village of Agia Galini, situated at the feet of the house, is one of the most beautiful in Crete.Īs you can also see at the map of Crete, close to the village of Agia Galini there are: When sitted at the salon of the main house you can see the blu of the swimming pool continued by the blu of the sea. Now this wall is the swimming pool wall ! From the balcon of the guest house we can directly dive at the deepest part of the swimming pool, whose dimensions are 14 x 8 meters, overflow type. Both houses, at the time, were sourounded by a wall used by the Cretans as defence wall for the battles against the pirates which attacked the south part of Crete very often.
